December 2009 eNews: InterNetzo The Walden School Teacher Training Institute is pleased to announce its 2010 Summer Intensive, August 4-11 in Dublin, New Hampshire! As always, this year’s Institute will include creative exploration and pedagogical training in musicianship, solfège and rhythms, computer musicianship, and improvisation. We will offer three levels of training and welcome new applicants as well as all our alumni. Please tell your friends, teachers, and colleagues. In the words of one two-time participant of TTI, “It’s never too late to Discover, Drill, and Create!” The "Discover, Drill, Create" approach at Walden is applicable to any stage of my musical life and livelihood. I can always benefit from taking a fresh look at my inner workings, a long unblinking look at who I am, and what gives my musical life meaning. After that rediscovery, I can focus and train further on the techniques I need to realize and share that which I have discovered. That's the grown up version of drill. Finally, having the guts and inspiration to create and present music to the world is natural fruition of this process. I also find that these three are constantly informing each other, and each phase includes the other two in varying degrees. Alexander deVaron Applications may be downloaded from our web site here. For an early application discount, apply by February 15. Financial aid is available. Copyright 2007-2010, The Walden School, All Rights Reserved. |
