Mivos Quartet, David Friend, and Matthew Gold in Concert

Join us for the inaugural concert of our 47th annual Creative Musicians Retreat!

Performing will be the Mivos Quartet (pictured), pianist David Friend, and percussionist Matthew Gold. This concert features works by composer-in-residence George Lewis, as well as music of Walden faculty members Renee Favand-See and Caroline Mallonee. You won’t want to miss it!

The Chicago Reader calls the Mivos Quartet “one of America’s most daring and ferocious new-music ensembles.” Matthew Gold is a percussionist with the Talea Ensemble, who have been lauded by the New York Times as “a vital part of the New York contemporary-classical scene.” Pianist David Friend has been described as “astonishingly compelling” (Washington Post), “magical” (New York Concert Review), and the New York Times calls him “[one] of the finest, busiest pianists active in New York’s contemporary-classical scene.”

As always, Walden concerts are FREE and open to the public.

Location: All events take place in the Louise Shonk Kelly Recital Hall, on the campus of Dublin School in Dublin, NH (unless otherwise noted)
