2018 Walden/JCC Alumni Reunion

Friday, July 20th – Sunday, July 22nd

New Hampshire

We were thrilled to have so many Walden and JCC alumni gather in Dublin to celebrate these programs and the role of creative musicianship in our lives. It was a weekend filled with songs and memories, old and new, and we are already looking forward to our next reunion!

Overview

July 20-22, 2018, The Walden School hosted a weekend of events to celebrate more than 65 years of outstanding Walden and Junior Conservatory Camp (JCC) history.

Dozens of alumni and Walden friends gathered in the Monadnock region to experience the Walden/JCC magic once again.

While Walden’s Young Musicians Program was in full swing, alumni reconnected with friends, attended music workshops and a Composers Forum featuring The Walden School Players and alumni composers, hiked Mount Monadnock, and joined in community singing. One evening featured a concert of alumni performers. Campus tours highlighted updates and improvements to the Dublin School grounds, including a brand new recital hall with air conditioning! Many of the weekend’s alumni gatherings were held at Aldworth Manor in Harrisville, a wonderful Monadnock venue.

Schedule

Our reunion began Friday with the chance to observe the YMP program in action, a BBQ bringing together alumni, board members, and current faculty and staff, and an Alumni Guest Artist Concert and reception.

Saturday got off to a lively start with a hike up Mt. Monadnock. Later in the day, our talented alumni dove into classes led by YMP faculty, and came together for choral singing, one of the most cherished traditions of Walden and JCC. The Composers Forum on Sunday featured the Walden School Players and moderators Sam Pluta and Caroline Mallonée Huebner.

Our two primary event locations were the Dublin School campus and Aldworth Manor.
