2014 Creative Musicians Retreat

The Walden School Creative Musicians Retreat (CMR) offers training and development opportunities for the well-rounded musician (ages 18+).

Faculty to include Caroline Mallonee, Sam Pluta, Loretta K Notareschi, Ian Munro. Staff to include Seth Brenzel, Marguerite Ladd and Sky Macklay.

The Ensemble-in-Residence for the 2014 Creative Musicians Retreat will be Wet Ink Ensemble. And Eve Beglarian will be our Composer-in-Residence.

The program begins with dinner on Saturday, June 14, 2014, and concludes with breakfast on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Some specific program details are still in the planning stages, so please write to us at retreat@waldenschool.org if you have any particular questions or comments about the program.

Walden is excited to announce this year's annual New York City Alumni Composers forum will feature the ensemble Face the Music and will be moderated by former Walden School Composer-in-Residence, Eve Beglarian.

All new and increased donations before, during or after this event (and before September 30) will be matched 1:1 by Walden's Board of Directors. Faculty Commissioning Concert

Members of Ensemble Dal Niente, a Chicago-based contemporary music ensemble
 featuring Walden Teacher Training Institute alumnus Chris Wild, will perform eight world premiere works by Young Musicians Program faculty members Alex Christie, Rebekah Griffin Greene, Marguerite Ladd, Sky Macklay, Emil Margolis, Ian Munro, Osnat Netzer, and Sam Pluta. 2013 marks the 13th Faculty Commissioning Project that The Walden School has sponsored. Free and open to the public

An evening celebration of improvisation and electronic music, featuring Peter Evans, Anne LaBerge, Sam Pluta, Alex Christie, and Ian Munro. This concert celebrates 15 years of Walden’s innovative electronic music curriculum and program.
