Halloween in July at Walden’s 2026 Young Musicians Program (YMP)

A Walden student in the Room of Analog Doomscrolling

Halloween in July has become a beloved tradition at Walden’s Young Musicians Program (YMP). Introduced 10 years ago by former Walden faculty member Kittie Cooper, the spooktacular event features a DIY haunted house filled with creepy, fun, and music-nerdy rooms in which students can go trick-or-treating.

At Halloween in July in 2026, haunted attractions included:

  • Monadnock Lava Pit
  • The Spiders’ Den
  • Supernatural “Ti” Party
  • The Room of Spectral Grains (referring to the granular synthesis technique in electronic music)
  • The Room of Tangling Cables and the Room of Untangling Cables
  • The Room of Analog Doomscrolling
  • And several more wacky, fun, musical and Walden-y themes!
