Dr. Martin Bresnick, our 2015 Composer-in-Residence, Creative Musicians Retreat, will present and discuss some of his own compositions, which include operas, chamber and symphonic music, film scores and computer music

The Music of Ecstasy:
Works for piano, and piano and electronics, based upon sacred texts and imagery by composers George Crumb, Scott Blasco, Olivier Messiaen and Martin Bresnick.

Wall to Wall World Premieres: PRISM Quartet, Inc. in partnership with the Curtis Institute of Music, PRISM presents an electrifying program of world premieres of new saxophone quartets by Walden alumni Solon Snider and Mark Macaluso, winners of the PRISM/Walden School Commissioning Award; Bang on a Can composer and Pulitzer Prize-finalist Julia Wolfe; Grammy Award-winner Michael Daugherty; the Curtis Institute’s David Hertzberg; Princeton University’s Emma O’Halloran, Viet Cuong and Jonathan Russell; counter)induction’s Kyle Bartlett; and PRISM’s own Matthew Levy.

Please join us for an afternoon fundraising reception and performance by renowned jazz pianist, Cyrus Chestnut, in support of The Walden School.
Mr. Chestnut has been called a "...highly intelligent improviser with one of the surest senses of swing in jazz" by The New York Times,and is an alumnus of The Walden School's Young Musicians Program.
